Welcome to Midnight!
Greetings, Wiki surfer. This is Midnight! A town in the wilderness, found somewhere in the realm of OSM. Midnight welcomes all players, whether townless or from other towns, to come settle a small house of their own and aid in the growth of our town!
You can warp to the town via /lmk wormhole or use your space warping device to /tpa to one of the town citizens.
If you wish to settle down, please notify a town member or one of the leaders – Kukoshi or HZborblam. I,HZborblam, will probably your most seen face on the server so feel free to message me at any time, whether in chat, via /msg or even /mail.
Town History:
The history of Midnight is sparse but records of the land still remain(Fig. 3).
It is told that somewhere in the early days of April, the first founder – am12, spawned on the realm of OSM.
In search of companionship and brotherhood, am12 asks for players to start a settlement. Some decline, some offer a helping hand of resources but only one agrees to join – Hzborblam.
As days pass, the small settlement grows at a steady pace. New friends join am12’s journey and the small settlement fills less lonely now. He is content and happy.
After the first few months, the town grew even more and spread out. Houses and farms popped out, needed to feed its citizens. The town relied mainly on bread as the sandy shores and salty sea would ward livestock from staying near town for long. And as for fishing, few knew how to cast so efforts on sowing seeds was put priority.
With options for unlimited expansion, the town had its first smaller settlements not far from the centre of town. Crossing the sea on the south side and embracing the sandy beaches on the north side, what we call today South Midnight and Midday, is where the borders of Midnight first stretched further.
Over the summer, the prosperity of the town would grow. Roads were established, a creeper farm would be set somewhere in the bowels of the town and the crown jewel until today – The Midnightian Wheat Fields, would set record as the biggest fields in the realm!
With the sea controlling the west, East was only choice for the next expansion. Sadly, not many adventured as during the establishment of East Midnight, the town would fall in it’s quiet era, where very few newcomers would arrive. Almost none.
As the town falls in its quietest of times, the town sits idly. Untouched golden fields. Grazing wild animals pass by. The sea ever blue. And no one home. Even Mayor am12 is nowhere found.
But with the faith-bound arrival of the citizens ilikemacandcheez and MatejH2007, the town would begin to grow anew. While ilikemacandcheez chose to build around Central Midnight, MatejH2007 opted out to expand South Midnight further. Many new builds and farms would sprout. More land would be claimed. The city felt alive once more!
But it also felt too big. Taking on a task, the president of the now established republic of Midnight – Kukoshi, decided to expand his railway that only crossed from Central Midnight to South Midnight. The railway is still being constructed but citizens expect that one day the railway might go around all parts of the town.

The Mushroom War:
While the town itself never was attacked for its settlement was far from all other lands and towns, there was war within the borders. Not a dispute between citizens. A dispute between species!
The Red and Brown mushrooms are known to be rivals since the Universe gave them birth. They are of the same kind. The two mushrooms were once one single hive mind but evolution bred them slowly to adapt into adapting to all sorts of environments, from the hellish

bowels of The Nether to the cold mountains of the Taiga and thus a split in the Mushroom family appeared. Their carnivorous and ever-spreading nature never went away but instead of spreading as one, the two mushrooms now FOUGHT EACH OTHER over LAND!
And their war would show its tragedy on the land of Midnight too. There are 3 battlefields that the mushroom wars were spotted.
First encounter was made on the spruce forests(Fig. 4). A jungle of foliage and tight passages would make you guess who had control. More brown mushrooms were spotted so ecological historians claim that they had a big domain in that forest.
But their war would be found meaningless as the giants shaking the land above them would engulf them in a sweep. The forest was cut and the mushrooms had to flee. A few were seen trying to spread over the beaches(Fig. 5). Some took shelter with one of the giants and until today one may see the bridge of Kukoshi’s house being overridden with both red and brown mushrooms. That is the second battlefield. Even today, spores are being spilled on the wooden floors(Fig. 6,7).

Further away, on another bridge (Fig. 8), the mushrooms find themselves at a stalemate where neither mush can pierce the front defences of the other. Each side looks at the other, possibly remaining in a stalemate destined to continue for eons.

“Little we know of these creatures. And even less do we know why they fight each other over control. Our research and knowledge over the behaviour of mushrooms is limited as we always thought that they were nothing more but nutritious combo, as recipes of tasty mushroom soup are recorded in all towns but it turns out the sweet flavours of a soup is made out of bitter rivals.“ – Ecologist HZborblam
Town Districts:
- Central Midnight (Fig. 9)
The heart of Midnight. The root of all beginnings. This is probably the most populated area as it spams quite a lot. From one sea to another, a house and a farm can always be seen. Place to some of the wonderful sightseeings like the Whirlpool or the Midnightian Wheat Fields, the heart of Midnight has had many starts. From glorious houses, to wonderful farms and mineshafts reaching the bottoms of the earth for miners to seek riches. The area offers any newcomer a public wheat and forest farm with a mineshaft, allowing for everyone to begin their settlement!

- Midday
One of the first expansions of the town. A smaller settlement built on a beach coast. Lots of fun activities came from there. The few citizens who settled there loved to fish race each other into trying to fish the most fish. Not much fish was gotten as of accounts of one of the residents – jjMCBurger, but it was the thought and fun that the residents had that mattered. Due to their positive nature, a disco hut sprung up near central Midnight, where citizens can come and party any time of the day.

- South Midnight (Fig. 10)
An expansion of Midnight, started and mostly funded by the president Kukoshi. He began it by building a bridge over the sea and invited a few settlers to populate the area/ The mix of fields and dessert was an uncanny sight so a flattening terraforming decision of the area was made. The area seems rather small but the well-maintained and calculated plots give South Midnight an orderly feel.

- East Midnight (Fig. 11)
The most recent expansion and smallest of the districts. With only 3 houses and being spread out, East Midnight starts on a small deviation from a pathway that connects Central and South Midnight. The house laying under the gentle cover of a mountain was the first and longest standing monument of East Midnight’s existence with a mechanical farm for sustain and a bridge on the very top to scout the lands all around Midnight. The two other houses seen from a high point tell a story that someone was meant to come and live but no traces of visitors or contracts of ownership are found. Maybe one will settle there if the town were to have more newcomers who wish to rent instead.

Neighbouring Lands:
- Mac’s spot (Fig 12)
The first neighbour town, began by ilikemacandcheez. After setting a few shops of his own and a fallout shelter, the brave citizen decided to expand in grandiose expectations for a town of his own. With the aid of another realm traveller by the name of wavpainter, ilikemacandcheez has begun his own small town that we hope to see grow more.
