Gyurtown was founded on July 6th 2021, named after its creator, Gyurto. Gyurtown currently remains the largest player-made town on the entire server, excluding the spawn areas. It is the closest thing OSM has to a city.

Being one of the oldest towns on the server, Gyurtown is one of the most historically rich towns on the entire server, and a sure must-visit. It consist of a massive, sprawling urban landscape with parks, rivers and canals scattered throughout.Gyurtown is also the center of perhaps the most densely populated area on the server. It is neighboured by many other towns and landmarks such as Gyurtoberg, Pizzatown, Korsland, Woodland Suites & Gardens and L*nc*ster.

Gyrutown is also easily accessible, as it has railway system connected to many other towns and the URO(United Railroads of OSM), as well as some having 3 landmarks being "/lmk gyurtown", "/lmk gyurtoberg", and "/lmk Mall"

Gyurtown features a variety of buildings that have unique styles. The town primarily consists of traditional, european baroque architecture mixed with a good amount of modernist urban design. The city is packed with large castles, churches, museums, statues and memorials. It gives the impression of an old historical city, which has developed and evolved with the passage of time. Gyurto is famous for his incredible architechture and building skill, and it is on full display in this town. It is hard to find a view in Gyurtown that isn't stunning.

Gyurtown has many different sights within the town itself.

The district of New Town is located in the west end of Gyurtown and is home to many important strucutres, such as the Archive, where you can read about a lot of the history of not only Gyurtown itself, but a lot of other places on OSM. There is also the United Cities Parliament, which features a house chamber under the buildings red dome. Right across from that is the Gyurtown mall, where many different players have set up their own item shops. The Mall also has its very own landmark for players wanting to shop there.

The Castle District is located across the Great Bay from the main town, next to Woodland Suites. It is one massive castle by the water, built on the Sevennot Mountain.

The district of Portton features the Founder Memorial, which is a statue of Gyurto himself. The statue has a cape with the Gyurtown flag on it. It also has the Harbour, which is surrounded by a row of buildings on either side.

Gyurtown is also visited by many player due to its much famous Mall and Mall 2, which includes many shops players can buy/rent from Gyurto, these shops include, selling ores, weapons, food, redstone, blocks, and some other items, some shops also allow you to sell some of the stuff you have.

The town was founded on July 6th 2021 by Gyurto, who was soon joined by his friend Kronisz, who unfortunately quit shortly after. Gyurto continued to work on the town and soon opened it to the public. A few people joined, most notably sevvennotdog, who made significant contributions to the development of the town. A lot of projects were started, such as a Monastery, Musuem and the Winston Church.

After a while, the influx of new players to the town slowed down, as the existing plots were being fille, owever one notable player who joined was Pejsek_Jeden who built Pejsek island and a statue of Gyurto, located in the harbour.

Soon after that, the project turned into a private project, with Gyurto being the only remaining player. He continued to build in the town for years.

As of 2024, Gyurto has stated numerous times that the town is officialy complete, and that no new projects will be started. Given that the town is almost completely sorrounded by other towns and projects, it would be almost impossible to expand it, even if Gyurto decided to try. Modifications and changes to parts of the town are however still being made, such as the towns railway system.

== Acquiring a landmark ==
A normal player cannot create a landmark, only administrators have permission to.
You can request a landmark by making a ticket within the [https://os-mc.net/discord Discord guild] from the <code>#create-help-ticket</code> channel, or request one from an online administrator in-game.
