My role on Old School Minecraft primarily involves handling current affairs and moderation. I have previously assisted in organizing and hosting in-game and Discord events. Additionally, I manage several social media accounts associated with OSM, including YouTube and TikTok.

History of Old School Minecraft

The inspiration to create a beta emerged in late 2017, when I was an active member of the Beta Minecraft community, playing on a server known as BetaLands. The name "Old School Minecraft" was born from my fondness for Old School Runescape, prompting me to wonder why no similar name had been chosen for a Legacy Minecraft server.

It wasn't until two years later that significant progress was made on the server idea. Collaborating with friends "Dan" and "AwesomeGuy584", we began work on Old School Minecraft. Hosted in Europe, the early stages were plagued with bugs, and unfortunately, the server failed to attract any players.

Shortly after my failed beta server attempt, I befriended moderator_man, sharing a mutual passion for creating a vanilla beta server without towny, faithfully representing beta 1.7.3 as it was in 2011. Leveraging moderator_man's Java expertise and my artistic skills, we shaped the server into what you now know as "Old School Minecraft."

Did you know? Originally, Old School Minecraft was envisioned as a mod for beta 1.7.3, aiming to follow Notch's vision and introduce features we believed aligned closely with his ideas. However, this concept was abandoned in favor of a vanilla beta server, as we were dissatisfied with the state of beta servers at the time.
